Christmas Memories!

Hello! As I'm sure you're all aware, it's NINE DAYS TILL CHRISTMAS!
*Rings the bells around Whoville*

All my presents have been bought and I'm ready for Santa to deliver me some goodies!!

This time of year always gets me thinking about past christmases. When you used to be terrified you wouldn't get to sleep from excitement, and Santa wouldn't come to your house! He knew when you were sleeping, remember! Christmas has come a long way since then, and to say the excitement has gone would be a lie. Christmas can be enjoyed at any age. And I personally like this age. Maybe because I love Bucksfizz… Nah, Appletiser all the way!

So what do I get up to around christmas time? (Apart from thinking about drink) Well, it varies every year. A few years ago I remember staying up on Christmas Eve on video chat with my friend, just so we could say Merry Christmas to each other. We were cute!
There's always a guarantee of christmas movies. My personal favorite this year has been 'A Nightmare Before Christmas'. But The Grinch is my all time favorite, duh.
And yes, if there's snow there's a guarantee of snowman making!
Last chrismas? I was out in town (Garage, Aberdeen) with my friend. Casual. It was actually a good night, we just went out on Christmas Eve for the hell of it and ended up going to a club. They gave us gifts and hats though, so no complaining!
This year? Well, I don't really know. It won't be getting drunk, at least not with Jess since she's off on holiday! There is an ice rink that's been built in our town so I might have to go down and give that a go!
One thing's for sure, there will be food, and there will be cocktails. At least, there will in my house.
I'm not really sure what the plan is for this Christmas, it's always just a fun time no matter what. And especially fun in a christmas jumper!

Hair dye experiment!

Hello!

What have I been up to? *drumroll please*
Dyed my hair.

This may not be exciting to read but hey, you're here!

I've been rocking the dip dye trend for just over a year now, and I looove it! However, I've been noticing that the ends of my hair have become brittle due to the blonde dye. I can't completely give up the dip dye because I love it so much, but I wanted a slight change. More of the 'ombre' look if you will.
This is what my dip dye looked like;
As you can see it was very much brown to blonde. The result I'm hoping to get from dying my hair is a more natural look. I don't want my tips to be as blonde as they are currently looking.

My natural colour (which I haven't seen in about 3 years) is a dark blonde.

I first dyed my hair blonde when I was 16. I kept this going for a while but eventually, somehow, it ended up brown. Heres some pictures of me through the years;

I ended up using three hair dye kits to achieve the look. Mainly because my roots needed done, them my hair went too ginger so, yeah.
I don't know why everyone thinks dying your hair is SO bad for it, I mean, granted it's not the best but once you dye your hair it feels/looks like it's in such good condition. (if you don't bleach it off or turn it green of course.)

This was the result! Now I don't want anyone telling me it looks the same because it doesn't. Does it? No, it's completely different!

I like it, do you?

PUMPKIN CARVING!

HAPPY HALLOWEEN!

Whats the best thing about Halloween? (apart from going to Glasgow with your friends) CARVING A PUMPKIN.

Don't judge too much, this was my first attempt!

This is what you'll need;

A pumpkin, obviously. And some tools and a felt tip pen. I also printed out a face I wanted for my pumpkin.

First you'll need to carve out a circle at the top of the pumpkin, cutting the pumpkin was actually easier than I anticipated. You'll obviously need to scoop out the contents which was probably the most challenging part of the process.

I placed my 'stencil' on the pumpkin with Sellotape and drew the outline with a biro pen.
After this, I took my black sharpie pen and drew around the lines the biro created.

Now comes the fun, carving the pumpkin. It's actually not hard work at all! (Despite my mothers warnings.)

Now, for me, Mr. Pumpkin was looking a little too boring. So me being me decided to whap out my paint and give him a more gruesome look. It is Halloween after all!

So what do you think?

Have a good Halloween!
(muhahaha)

I've been to the dentist!

I haven't taken the time to sit down and write a blog post in a long time. This is mainly down to the fact I've had nothing to write about. Due to my lack of inspiration, my next few posts might just be about what I've been getting up to.

So what have I been doing? Well, I had a dentist appointment. I know, I know, we've all been there; sitting in the dentist chair, getting an x-ray, and hearing the dentist say "oh..."

Wait...you haven't? Well, unfortunately for my poor tooth, I have.

There I was, sitting quite content in the dentists chair going through the usual dentist malarky when my front tooth became very sensitive. The dentist decided to give my tooth an x-ray to see what it was whining about. Turns out, I needed root canal treatment.

This basically meant that the dentist had to drill a hole in the back of my tooth to clear the passage that allows all the blood and what not through.
Sounds pretty awful, right?

Why did this happen I hear you ask? Basically, when I was about 10/11 or so I burst my lip - this resulted in a wobbly front tooth. Apparently, my root hadn't fully developed yet so when this happened the passage that carries blood and supplies to my tooth was blocked.
Quite odd that it's taken me this long to figure out my tooth was abnormal.

The actual root canal process didn't hurt, which was surprising. I didn't feel any pain because my mouth was numb. Now, imagine someone drilling your tooth with a non-numb mouth. This blog post would be a lot less cheery.

So basically, the point of this blog post - besides boredom - was to say, if you're about to have root canal treatment and/or getting a filling, don't worry! It honestly isn't bad at all.
The only thing you'll have to suffer is a numb mouth for the rest of the day. Lovely!

Random Favourites..

Helloo everyone! I thought I would share some of the things I've been doing/watching/wearing/listing to this month.
It's just a few random favourites. Some beauty related, and some I just thought I'd mention!

Beauty Favourites
I've been wearing this perfume for a while now. It's called Just Cavalli For Her. It has quite a floral scent and smells a little bit like Thierry Mugler's 'Alien'. I'm not one to stick to a particular thing, so I like to mix up my perfumes whenever they finish. However I must say I really do like this one. Plus it was a present so you never know how that's going to go. Luckily for my brother, I like it!

For my birthday my friend bought me this MAC lipstick.
The lipstick is called 'Angel' and it's a frost lipstick. If you're unfamiliar with MAC lipsticks they have different types; some are frost, some are satin and so on. Not sure on the specifics, but from what I gather the frost lipsticks are frosted leaving your lips with a shimmery finish.
Angel is pinky-nude colour and I LOVE it. It's so wearable and looks like it's your natural lip colour.
Cheers, Jess!

When you're as pale as me, you sometimes have no choice but to go to a counter and get your foundation matched. However, that usually means you end up paying for an expensive (but probably effective) foundation.
Usually I don't bother with drugstore/highstreet foundations because of this reason. On a whim I decided to buy Rimmels 'Wake Me Up' foundation and it's so good! Thought it deserved a little shout-out!

Heres a few random favourites..

I do love to throw in some random little things so, welcome to the weird part.
Favourite song? I've had Bastille's cover of 'We Can't Stop' on repeat. Love it! If you're interested here's the link - http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8pZi7CXE2ac

If you're curious as to what my favourite song in general is, that would be Frank Turners 'I Am Disappeared'.

My favourite person? Well, she may be fictional but I do love Arya Stark.

If you don't know who she is, she's a character from Game of Thrones, which is also one of my favourites.
Watching old Game of Thrones scenes on youtube is kind of my life right now. I love Arya! She's so badass.

Last week when I was lying in bed ill, my mum bought me Ribena. Now, I haven't tasted, or even thought about Ribena in YEARS. All I can say is thank you, mum! I've discovered an old love. Yum!

Favourite film? Despicable Me. I'm always a little sceptical about cartoon films, just because I have this notion that they're only for kids. But honestly, what's wrong with that? It's such a cute film. If you've seen it, you may also have buying a fluffy unicorn on your to-do list.

Something I've been obsessed with? As sad as it sounds I've been playing Minion Rush on my iphone non stop. After watching Dispicable Me I had to get it and now it's slowly taking over my life.

So there you have it! A random blog post if you ever did see one.
Thanks for reading, what are some of your favourites? x

Who am i? *Derek Zoolander voice*

Well, Hello!

I'm 19 and a student at Aberdeen College. I'm studying media and as part of my course, I've been asked to start a blog.

ooooooh, blog life!
So, what should you expect? Well, I'd expect some, insightful, educational and random entries, maybe some life tales and perhaps some fashion and beauty things.

Introduction to me.
Well....
I'm half Canadian, eh.
The other half of me is Scottish through and through.
As I tell most people when they first meet me, you're probably not going to pronounce my name right. It's Welsh. My last name, that's Scottish. I do love variety.
I like all things fun, I do enjoy the odd adventure. Like, just the other week I climbed bennachie. That was er, interesting. (painful)

Get excited, because I'm new to this, I have lots to say and I do love a rant.

here's me and my pal the panda! x

peace! x
